BREAKING NEW !!!! Google Launched new OS will it support JAVA ?

.

Google launched new operating systems Chrome OS an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. (...) Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips and we are working with multiple OEMs to bring a number of netbooks to market next year. The software architecture is simple — Google Chrome running within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel.

"We realized that the web had evolved from mainly simple text pages to rich, interactive applications and that we needed to completely rethink the browser. What we really needed was not just a browser, but also a modern platform for web pages and applications, and that's what we set out to build," said Google in September 2008.

Now the Question is will new Google Chrome OS will support java ?... I think the support for java in chrome OS is highly likely since it is based on linux kernal.

Any Comment will be appreciated.

It's hard to tell. But I like it not to be supported :)

java, python and with new windowing system, will old frameworks like qt/gtk be still available ?

what packaging system will it use ?

will we be able to easly deploy software like for mac (without the bloody dependency madness that all linux distros have?)

if google os linux will finally put an end to this and will make us be able to write easily deployable software, then it will stand a chance

but lets not forget about modern linux gui creations, like cairo

will the windowing system be hardware accelerated and vector based ?

...

:)) ;)) ;;) :D ;) :p :(( :) :( :X =(( :-o :-/ :-* :| 8-} :)] ~x( :-t b-( :-L x( =))
